Virtual Art Thursdays K-8th Grade
All classes will be held online through Zoom. Students with cameras will be able to share their work with other artists in class and are highly recommended to do so.
September - February we will focus primarily on drawing with graphite and ink.
Here is a list of supplies young artists will need for class:
- Artist Pencils HB, 2B, 4B, 6B
- Strathmore 400 Series drawing journal
- Kneaded eraser
- White eraser
- Pencil sharpener
- Ultra Fine Point Sharpie or Micron 01
- Blending stumps
- Tombow Mono Zero Erasers size 2.3
- *Optional color pencils or markers
In this beginner drawing class artists will be exposed to different drawing techniques with graphite and ink. The goal for this class is to help artists work to further develop their fine motor, concentration, decision making and problem solving skills while building confidence. This class will focus on stretching observational skills and we will be mostly working on realistic drawing. The subject of our drawing will change monthly and students will have an opportunity to weigh in on what subject they would like to focus on.
March - June we will put our drawing skills to the test and introducing watercolor for adding color and value.
Any watercolor palette will do. I recommend purchasing “round” watercolor brushes of various sizes. A watercolor sketchbook is recommended for the best results. We will continue to use pencil and eraser during these months.
All abilities are welcome!
Classes are billed monthly September - June. You can pause or cancel your subscription throughout the year as your schedule permits.
Your monthly tuition reserves a spot in the class. No refunds are given for missed classes or shortened months.
